The Children of West Africa

The Village Children

of

Benin West Africa

These little girls are in a Sunday School class in a village where the leadership is Christian. This village had been in the darkness of voodoo and its worship of idols and demons but through the love and kindness of Jesus many adults have turned from idols to serve the living God. This means that their children can be raised in the light of Jesus.

The Lord has shown much love to this village. This love is what has won their hearts away from idols to Jesus. This love has been expressed in the provision of a well. The clean water of this well has saved the lives of many  children from malaria which is rampant in the region and causes many infant deaths.

This village also has a bank, a clinic and a school as well as living quarters for its older girls. The school doubles as a place of meeting for the believers in the village.

Young Village Mothers

Young Village Mothers

Many of the mothers in the village are teenagers and young adults. Many are sisters and first cousins. A village is a collection of families and many marriages take place within the village. Pray for these young mothers who are in Sunday School with their sons and daughters. Pray as they seek to raise their children in the Lord.

Nicholas

Nicholas

The work in the villages was started by the Lord through a man who was available to him. Nicholas showed love to a man and gave him a lift on his motor bike to his village. Nicholas soon discovered that this man was the leader of a cultic group.

The Lord drew this man's heart to himself through Nicholas as Nicholas shared the gospel of Jesus Christ and through this man and Nicholas began to reach others in the village. This is how the work grew. The Lord used Nicholas to share the vision for this work with his pastor and 4 other young men. These 4 other young men were joined with Nicholas and the work of the "5 Guys" began.

The Lord has been winning the hearts of many in the villages through love as food and wells and encouragement and support and help is provided. As he directs the source of that love is revealed as Jesus Christ.

The picture is one of Nicholas and I. Pray for Nicholas and his wife and child and for their protection ,encouragement and practical needs.

Nicholas in a Village

Nicholas Ministering the Gospel in a Village

and The Adopt a Village Ministry

Not every village is open to the gospel. In the village in the picture Nicholas is sharing Jesus and receiving some opposition from those who are still in the darkness of voodoo. I had the joy of sharing the gospel with Nicholas as an interpreter. This village has not yet been adopted by a church in the US. Here is how you can help. You can adopt the village, or any village, help them get what they need as a demonstration of God's love, you can also visit them. Your presence coming all the way from America or other countries is a real demonstration of your love for them and they greatly appreciate it.

If you are Led to consider adopting a village, please e-mail Me at lendar@ameritech.net and I will provide you with more information.

Daniel and Jean and Family

Daniel and Jean and Family

and Supporting a Native Missionary

This is Daniel and Jean with their wives and children. These are two of the families that Jesus has strategically picked to labor with him in the villages. In addition to adopting a village another option is to support a native missionary. In 2006 funds were put together by the team from the US which helped Jean and Daniel and Nicholas along with Boris and Fatyi to purchase land to raise crops and chickens for sale in the various markets.

The direction we have is to empower these native missionary families to be self-sustaining and not dependent on others but on God. They have to pay rent for their homes and for the education of their children. $300-$400 a month would sustain any of these families well.

If you are led to support a native missionary family, please e-mail me and I will provide personal information about the "5 Guys" and some specific needs to help them establish a strong economic foundation.

Daniel, Jean and I Invite You

Daniel, Jean and I Invite You

Join in with Jesus in Benin West Africa 2008!

When you come to Benin in 2008 you will stay in a nice air-conditioned hotel in the city of Cotonou. You will be transported in an air-conditioned van and eat catered food at an eating facility. You will meet Nicholas, Boris, Jean, Fatyi and Daniel and their wives and children. You will visit the villages and dance and fellowship and minister and worship and praise. You will have a chance to fellowship with the men, women, youth and children of the villages.

You will be ministered to more than you will minister. The fellowship with the team and the on the job training by the Holy Spirit will revive, restore and anoint you for the work the Lord is doing in these last days. You will be on the cutting edge of some of the work Jesus is doing as he goes into the villages proclaiming the gospel of salvation and the Kingdom of God! You will see Jesus heal the sick and deliver many from night terrors and other oppressions of demonic forces.

You will pray and study and look to God as you never have before! You will enter into the reality of spiritual warfare. You will search deep down in your heart and discover the living Lord Jesus Christ .You will return home greatly empowered by the Lord and with a clearer discernment of the work of God and Satan in your home , home church and community and nation. God will manifest himself to you in a real way! God will put his hands firmly on you, clean you up, strengthen you and work his life and will in you and through you!

The "5 Guys" and their wives would love to get to know you and to fellowship with you! They are all young adults and enjoy meeting other young adults in the family of God! It is a joy to meet so many committed young men and women!

Others Have Come

These Two Young Women from the United States

Enjoyed their Time in the Villages.

Will You Come in 2008?

Older Women from the Chicago Team 2006

You're Never too Old to Be Used by the Lord!

This is the Chicago Team of 2006. I enjoyed serving with these two strong and dear and young 80 something women. Are you retired? People don't retire to rocking chairs they are "reinvented" by the Lord for his use in the latter part of their lives. The Lord can use their wisdom , maturity, gifts and ministry and lives. After all Joshua was 80 when he led the people of God into the Promise Land!

There are Men in the Village

There are Many Men and Boys in the Village

We only had two men on the team from the US and two men  from Nigeria. These 4 plus the "5 Guys" and Patrice our interpeter and the lead pastor made 11 along with the men like Anselm, Leopold, Paulin and Firmin who are leaders in one of the villages.

Men coming on the foreign field are very valuable. Brothers, please seek the Lord about joining the team for 2008. It is  a great encouragement to the men in Africa to see men of all nationalities particuialy African American coming in fellowship and co-laboring with them.

Pray for the two teams that will be going to Benin this year. From September 20th to 29th.

Calling all men.

Seek the Lord to see if he wants to send you to Benin West Africa in 2008
