Local Church AfterCare Readiness Questionnaire
Each local church has strengths to build aftercare ministry on. This questionnaire is designed to assist local churches in discerning those strengths. In the process of building on strengths you may discover some weaknesses that the Lord wants you to address to make your local church family even more effective in AfterCare or any ministry. Keep in mind according to John 15 that the Lord is the gardener. Any branch that bears fruit (builds on its strength) he prunes it (alerts them to areas of weakness to strengthen) so that it will bear more fruit.

Determining Your Program For the Church Coming Out of Prison

A Local Church Aftercare Readiness Questionnaire

1. What do we currently have in place so that we can offer small group discipleship to our brothers and sisters coming out of prison?

2. What do we currently have in place so that we can offer one on one mentoring to our brothers and sisters coming out of prison?

3.. What do we have in place so that we can offer practical help as far as jobs, start up expenses, education and training, clothing and transportation and above all housing to our brothers and sisters coming out of prison?

4. What do we have in place to offer biblical counseling and compassionate shepherding care to address the many transitional needs of our brothers and sisters coming out of prison?

5. What do we have in place to offer training in and opportunity for ministry to our brothers and sisters coming out of prison who are gifted as preachers, evangelists, pastors, teachers, counselors, musicians, writers, poets etc.?

Closing Suggestions

1. Seek the Lord of the Harvest in prayer. How does he want you to respond to this vision?

2. Discern what you have in place now that the Lord can use in aftercare ministry.

 2. Be open to strengthening some “weak” things that can be used in aftercare ministry.

 4. Be open to establishing some “new” things that can be used in aftercare ministry. 5. Gather the men and women who the Lord of the Harvest has spoken to and encourage them to seek the Lord and follow through on His direction in aftercare ministry.
